Transformations are ways in which a shape can be moved.
There are 3 kinds of transformations.
- Slide - also called a Translation
- Flip - also called a Reflection
- Turn - also called a Rotation
Students could watch a video from Scholastic Study Jams to learn more about transformations. Click on the link below.

After viewing the video, students could practice the 3 movements with geometric shapes or other manipulatives and trace, copy, sketch, and/or label pictures of slides, flips, and turns in their math notebooks.
