Red-Eyed Tree Frog Book and Craft Project

Book Recommendation

Red-Eyed Tree Frog
Story by Joy Cowley
Illustrated with photographs by Nic Bishop
Publisher: Scholastic Paperbacks
Reading Level: Ages 4-8

Red-eyed Tree Frog (Scholastic Bookshelf)

I've always been fascinated with the rain forests of the world and all its amazing animals. So when I was shopping and saw the cover of this book, I had to pick it up. I'm so glad that I did.  It has a very, very simple text but OH the PHOTOS are just gorgeous! Although the readability level is for ages 4-8, older kids will be intrigued and fascinated with the pictures that were taken in the tropical rainforest in Central America. Besides the gorgeous red-eyed tree frog pictures there are pictures of an iguana, a snake, a macaw, a toucan, a katydid, an ant, a moth, and a caterpillar.

The "Did You Know?" section in the back of the book gives us more scientific information about the Red-Eyed Tree Frog. This book will whet your students ' appetite to learn more about this frog and the rainforests of the world!
