Learning about prime and composite numbers in math can be a little confusing for kids. Here are 2 posters and 2 worksheets to use with your students that can make this task easier!

You can download and print my posters in color or in grayscale.

You will also receive 2 worksheets for your students to use. They can color their own charts with crayons, colored pencils, or highlighters.

Prime Factorization and Factor Trees Slide Show + Quiz

Scholastic Study Jams has a great math slide show for kids that explains prime factorization and factor trees.

Prime and Composite Numbers Video and Printables

Scholastic Study Jams has a slide show for the students that introduces Prime and Composite Numbers.


The number "1" is neither prime or composite.

After watching the slide show the students can take a short online multiple choice test to check their understanding.

Also I have 2 free, printable worksheets (with definitions) where the kids have to identify Prime and Composite numbers then using a crayon, highlighter, etc. they shade in the correct numbers.
