Pi Day is celebrated on March 14 (3/14) each year especially by mathematicians and math teachers and students!
It is an annual celebration that is observed around the world!
This year Pi Day is celebrated on Thursday, March 14, 2024.
Pi represents the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter.
The date, March 14, was chosen because numerically it represents the first 3 digits of pi (3.14).
When teaching on Pi Day, I always used the day to teach and review concepts about circles with very young students.
With middle school students, I always taught about discovering pi.
Here is a link to my favorite upper elementary and middle school pi day lesson plus links to other pi day ideas.

Also in my TPT shop I have a fun resource about circles and pi that can be used on Pi Day or any time of the year! This resource is appropriate for grades 5-8.
