Invertebrates - What are Crustaceans?

Crustaceans are arthropods. They are invertebrates (have no backbone).  Crustaceans have 2 or 3 body sections, 5 or more pairs of legs, and 2 pairs of antennae. Each body segment has a pair of legs or other type of appendage attached to it.

Examples of crustaceans are:
  •  crab
  •  shrimp
  •  lobster
  •  krill
  •  crayfish
  •  barnacles
  •  pill bugs
