Animal Classification with Stuffed Animals

 Kids love their stuffed animals.

As a FUN way for children to be introduced to Animal Classification,

(grouping based on common physical characteristics), have them categorize (group) their stuffed animals into Classes:

• mammals
• reptiles 
• amphibians
• birds
• insects
• arachnids
• mollusks
• crustaceans
• etc. 

Make SIGNS for each class of animals and give each group of animals a specific area of the room for display.  Children may also sketch their own animal pictures and then add their art work and lots of animal picture books to each display.
