Butterfly Sun Visor Craft Activity

Hats, caps, and visors are important for kids to wear on sunny days to help protect their skin from damaging rays of the Sun. 

Here's a fun Butterfly Sun Visor that kids can create to wear outside (and inside) that ties in with learning about butterflies and other insects.

Materials

• store-bought or homemade visor
• thin foam sheets
• scissors
• glitter glue or markers
• glue

Directions

• Draw or trace a butterfly shape onto a piece of foam.
• Cut out the butterfly shape and decorate as desired.
• Glue the butterfly onto the middle of the visor.
• If desired, draw some simple flower shapes onto the foam sheets. (Butterflies like to drink the nectar from the flowers.)
• Cut out the flower shapes and glue them on the visor

Now the kids can wear their visors at home/in class when reading butterfly and insect books.

They can wear the visors on sunny days outside in the garden, on walks, at recess, in the park, on field trips, etc. as they look around for real butterflies
