I'm here today with another Free Phonics game for your kids. This game is Roll & Read Printable CVC WORD GAME - Letter i.

CVC GAME - Consonant, Vowel, Consonant Words

The kids will use the game to practice and review reading cvc words with short i. The game has 25 words with the short vowel i.

My 2 previous posts were about my games for short a and short e. I plan to make and post games for short o and short u words soon and will upload them as soon as they are completed.

Games are always a fun and easy way for kids to practice basic skills and maintain their previous learning! Games are especially great in the summer to prevent summer slide and give the kids something to do on extremely hot days or rainy days!

This game includes the word families ib, id, ig, im, in, ip, it, and ix. 

When using this printable word game, students take turns rolling the dice or 1 die then reading one of the short i CVC words. The person who reaches the end first wins the game.  

This fun phonics game is Print and Go! Just download to your computer and print! If you want to keep the game to reuse again and again then I would suggest that you laminate the 1 page game or place it in a plastic sleeve. I usually buy my plastic sleeves at one of the dollar stores. I also like to buy the large foam dice at the dollar store to use with the games. They are really quiet to use!

Here is another free, fun printable phonics game to use with your kids. This game has short e words.

CVC WORD GAME - SHORT E

The game is called Roll and Read CVC Word Game - Short E.  

The kids will use the game to practice and review basic phonics/reading skills. The game can be used this summer when it is too hot or rainy to go outside or any time of the year!

Games are always a fun and easy way for kids to review basic skills and maintain their previous learning! Games are especially great in the summer to prevent summer slide! 

Summer Slide: the time when kids lose approximately two months of grade-level learning during the summer because of the time off from school!

The game includes the word families eb, ed, eg, em, en, and et. 

In the game, the students take turns reading, rolling the dice or 1 die then reading the short e CVC words. If desired, students could use a spinner instead of dice.

This fun phonics game is Print and Go and can easily be used for home or school use. 

I usually laminate my boards or put them in a plastic sleeve for durability.

The game is called Roll and Read CVC Word Game - Short A.  

The kids will use the game to practice and review basic reading skills.  The game can be used any time of the year!

The game includes the word families ab, ad, ag, am, an, ap, at and ax.

CVC Printable Word Game

In the game, the students take turns reading the CVC words.

This CVC game is Print and Go and can be used for home or school use. Games will add lots of fun to your lessons.

The kids could use dice (1 die) or a spinner to play the literacy games and practice reading CVC words.

If you have small plastic containers, they are extremely helpful to use to keep the dice on the desk or table when playing the game.

7 Fun Summer Worksheets for Grades K-3

Here are some free summer worksheets for your kids in Grades K - 3.

All of the NO PREP worksheets review a math or language arts skill and each has some fun coloring for the kids. They just need a pencil and some crayons or markers.

Five of the worksheets review a math concept and two review a language arts concept.

The literacy skills are reviewing color words and parts of speech (nouns and verbs).

The math skills are counting to 120, odd and even numbers, plus addition and multiplication facts.

The summer theme worksheets will help prevent summer slide!

In the summer children are having lots of fun but it's important to continue reviewing previous learning to prevent "summer slide" so that children will not forget what they have already learned.

Free End of Year Certificates of Achievement for Kids

Here in New England many students still have another month of school before the school years ends. In many of our southern states, the school year is ending much sooner.

I always like to give my students some certificates for all that they have accomplished during the year.

Here is a simple free certificate that you can download from my website. It prints in black and white and looks great when it is printed on different colors of paper.

6 Fun Earth Day Worksheets & Activities for Primary Grades

 HAPPY EARTH DAY!! 

This year Earth Day will be celebrated on Monday, April 22nd.

Here are some free Earth Day Theme Worksheets that you can use with your students.

120 Chart

Students write the missing numbers from1-120.

Addition Table

Students add the addends from 0-9 and write the sums.

Multiplication Table

Students multiply the factors and write the products.

READING

Color Words

Students read the color words and color the recycle bins.

Students find and circle or highlight the Earth Day words in the word search puzzle.

Students use the code to color the continents on Earth. On the back of the worksheet they can draw a picture and write a sentence or paragraph explaining why Earth Day is important.

PI Day Activities for Math Class

Pi Day is celebrated on March 14 (3/14) each year especially by mathematicians and math teachers and students! 

It is an annual celebration that is observed around the world! 

This year Pi Day is celebrated on Thursday, March 14, 2024.

Pi represents the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter.

The symbol for pi is

The date, March 14, was chosen because numerically it represents the first 3 digits of pi (3.14).

When teaching on Pi Day, I always used the day to teach and review concepts about circles with very young students.

With middle school students, I always taught about discovering pi.
