Assist younger students in making their paper plate clocks. Older students may need more of a challenge. Perhaps they could make the numbers on their clocks with Roman Numerals.

Make a Fun Christmas Paper Plate Clock!

Here is a fun idea that combines math and a holiday!  Make a fun paper plate clock with your students! This is an easy and fun craft to make in math class!

This paper plate Christmas clock has a gnome theme which seems to be a popular theme this year. I am seeing adorable gnomes in almost every store I visit!

At this time of year the children are so focused on the holidays! Use that interest to try some activities that have a holiday theme and are also educational.

A fun paper plate Holiday Clock can be made with the students then used to teach or review Telling Time or Elapsed Time.

You can make lots of clocks with a simple paper plate. Use a white paper plate and paint it a fun color, or use any of the fun colors found at dollar stores (usually 20 plates for $1.25), or a seasonal decorated paper plate found at supermarkets, craft stores, etc.

The Christmas clock pictured directly above was made with a plain red paper plate. The tree in the middle of the  plate is a paper gift tag that can be glued or fastened to the center of the plate to give the clock a festive look. Children can also design or color their own trees with drawing or construction paper and crayons. The clock hands are made from foam sheets purchased at a Dollar store. The foam clock numbers were also purchased at a Dollar Store (200 numbers in a package)! A package of paper fasteners was purchased at Staples.

Have fun at Christmas Time learning about Time!

8 Free Fun Number Counting Puzzles for Kids

    Do your students love puzzles?

Here's a fun way to help young kids reinforce their basic counting skills of numbers 1-100 while working with number puzzles.

    Free Number Puzzles for Kids

By using these fun number puzzles the children will be using their fine motor skills to make cute pictures with a woodlands animal theme while also practicing their math skills of counting and skip counting (number sequence).

    Counting is done by 1s, 2s, 5s, and 10s.

Number Sequences included in the set:

    • Counting by 1s - Numbers  1-10 (3 puzzles)
    • Counting by 1s - Numbers  11-20
    • Counting by 1s - Numbers  21-30
    • Counting by 2s - Numbers  2-20
    • Counting by 5s - Numbers  5-50
    • Counting by10s - Numbers 10-100

Children put the puzzle pieces into the proper number sequence. The puzzles are self-correcting in that the proper number sequence will reveal a picture. For these puzzles, the pictures revealed will be some woodland animals.

There are 8 puzzles in this set with different number sequences so that you can decide which number sequence your students need to work on. Each puzzle has 10 pieces.

All you need to do is print the puzzles, cut into strips, and laminate if desired. I like to print them on photo paper or cardstock.
